Office Familiarisation Trip to Wokefield Estate & Fanhams Hall!

On Friday the Events and Venues team went to Wokefield Estate in Berkshire, where we met with the lovely business development manager Camila. After being shown around the property we were split into pairs for a treasure hunt, which sent us searching for yellow golf balls hidden across Wokefield’s vast grounds. We were given only 30 minutes to find them all. As we are all quite competitive, this provoked a lot of running around! In the end, my team were declared the winners, for which we were each given a free nights stay at the hotel!

We then had some relaxing drinks and dinner in the lovely Steam, Bake and Grill Restaurant. On Saturday, after breakfast, we took some time to enjoy the estate’s driving range and crazy golf. Surprisingly, nobody managed to get injured at the time although we all have slightly sore backs and shoulders now – but that is probably just down to our age!

At Fanhams Hall in Hertfordshire we were met by the lovely revenue and sales manager Jane who gave us our show around. Afterwards, we had drinks and Canapés in one of their many beautiful lounges. Following this, a 4 course private dinner cooked by their chef Russell, who came out to greet us and explain the elements of each dish as it was served.

Our menu for the night was:

Quail egg, ham hock and pearl Barley

Duo of Trout, Fennel, Apple and Hazelnut

Teriyaki Pork Belly, Braised Cheek, Carrot, Shimeji Mushroom & Pak Choi

‘Dropped’ Ice Cream Cone

It was all very delicious!

We then finished the night singing in our own private Karaoke bar, featuring 2 radio microphones and 8000+ song catalogue of music ranging from Elvis to Britney! The following morning we woke up with tired voices and a little ringing in our ears! After breakfast, we took some time to walk around the grounds and enjoy the beautiful gardens before heading home.
